Song Da Corporation, Vietnam Machinery Assembly Corporation- LILAMA, Infrastructure Development & Construction Corporation – LICOGI, Construction Development & Investment Joint Stock Corporation, Construction Mechanical Company- COMA and Song Hong Joint Stock Corporation were originally established as the only small-scale units of capital, manpower and equipment for construction and installation works to serve the socialist construction and national defense. Through about 50 years of construction and development along with the development of the country, the Corporations have assumed as general contractor and executed construction and installation of almost all key projects of the country such as the industrial buildings: Son La hydropower, Hoa Binh hydropower, Yaly hydropower, Se San 3 hydropower, Tuyen Quang hydropower Projects, etc; thermoelectric plants such as Pha Lai, Phu My 1, Phu My 4, Ca Mau 1 & 2, Vung Ang 1, etc; the cement plants such as Hoang Thach, Chinfon, But Son, etc; The transport infrastructure projects such as road tunnels through the Hai Van Pass, Deo Ngang, Highway No.1, Highway No. 18, Ho Chi Minh trail.

Besides, the Corporations have been also being investors to trade in industrial products such as electrical energy with a total capacity of 2,500 MW, cement with a total capacity of over 5 million tons/year, constructional steel with total capacity of 430 thousand tons/year, steel billet with capacity of over 400 thousand tons/year, shipbuilding of 6,500 DWT, equipment manufacturing of 10,000 tons/year, etc; Transport infrastructure such as road tunnels through Ngang Pass, Highway No.2 (Hanoi - Phuc Yen), National Highway 1A - Ha Tinh City bypass, etc; The home products in urban areas, industrial parks in Hanoi City, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau city and other localities, in which many projects have been completed and their efficiency is now bringing into play and contributing significantly to the national socioeconomic development of the country.
