Vietkings Director Le Tran Truong An said the centre announced the awards so that localities can promote their dishes to domestic and international friends.

The Asia Record Organisation also suggested that the centre should submit more information, pictures and documentation about the remaining five dishes so they can reconsider them for similar accreditation:   banh canh Trang Bang (rice spaghetti), mi Quang (noodles), banh cong Soc Trang (rice and green bean cake with shrimp), Bun bo Hue (spicy beef noodles) and Cha ca La Vong Hanoi (a mixture of shrimp paste, lime and chilli slices; vegetables, peanuts and rice vermicelli). They will announce their conclusions in late August.

An ARO representative will come to Vietnam and present the titles to leaders of the relevant provinces and cities from where the dishes originate in September.
