Called the “Vietnam’s Sea Village Festival”, it will feature cultural and traditional sport activities with the participation of 10 south-central seaside provinces from Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai to Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City.
Each province will showcase one of its sea festivals or traditional rites in an exhibition and compete in sport competitions such as a dragon boat race.
Traditional music and dance typical of coastal villages such as hat doi dap and mua sieu will also be performed by folk musicians.
The highlight of the event will be an exhibition of more than 500 historical documents and records regarding Vietnam’s sovereignty over its seas and islands, especially about the Spratly and Paracel Islands.
Ninh Thuan boasts a 105 kilometer long coastal line and is home to many of Vietnam’s famous beaches, pools and bays such as Ninh Chu, Ca Na, Binh Tien and Vinh Hy.
