The products which become favorite overnight

In many cases, the troubles of some people could be the opportunities of others. The motorbike explosions have made motorbikes unsold, but helped boost the sale of electric bicycles. Meanwhile, gas explosions have led to the boom of electric stoves.

Rushing to buy electric bicycles

As the petrol prices have been increasing continuously, while a lot of motorbike explosions happened recently, people now feel insecure when traveling on motorbikes and cars. A lot of them have shifted to use bicycles and motorbikes, because they are safe and allow practicing to be thrifty in the context of high inflation.

Tran Ngoc Chien, the owner of the motorbike and bicycle shop at No 171 Truong Chinh Street in Dong Da district in Hanoi, said that there are tens of electric bikes available on the market. The best sellers are the models of Yamaha, Honda, E-motor (Minh Viet Saigon Company), Bridgestone, Boston, Giant, Delta, Five Stars, which are priced between 13-15 million dong.

Chien said that the demand for electric bikes has unexpected increased sharply in recent days. In December alone, he sold 500 electric bikes, while he sold 420 products in November and less than 350 products a month in previous months.

Thanh, the owner of the electric byke shop on Chua Lang Street also said that the purchasing power has increased by 20-30 percent in the last month.

Electric cooker more favored

A series of gas explosion have been reportedly recently in local newspapers, which have made a lot of people “live in fears”. Many housewives have decided to use electric or magnetic cookers instead of gas cookers.

A representative of Kitchmate Vietnam, which specializes in import kitchenware, said that the sales of magnetic cookers in November and December soared sharply in comparison with the months before.

Pico, a home appliance distributor, has also said that in the first two weeks of November, it sold 35 magnetic cookers a week, while it sold only 7-10 products a week in the months before. Not only popular cookers, but high cost products have also been selling well.

Fire-prevention services for motorbikes make big money

A bike repair shop on Thai Ha street has announced that it can provide the services that allows preventing the motorbike explosion and fire. According to Nguyen Dang Sang, the owner of the shop said that the customers who mostly use the services, are the owners of Air Blade and Lead scooters – the models which saw the highest number of explosion cases.

Sang said that the motorbike explosions might be caused by the leaking of petrol and electricity conductor wire. Therefore, in order to prevent the short circuit, it is necessary to cover the conductor wires with copper and specific tape which allows preventing rats from biting the wires.

Leasing jewelries in the wedding season

As the gold prices have become sky high, a lot of couples have to lease jewelries to wear on the wedding days instead of spending big money to buy them.

A set of jewelries including bracelet, necklace, earrings are now leased at 500,000-2 million dong for two nights and three days. Meanwhile, a couple would have to spend 10-20 million dong to buy them.

Huong, the owner of the jewelry shop on Tran Khat Chan Street in Hanoi said that her business has prospered because it allows newly married couples to save money. In order to rent a set of jewelries, customers have to pay a deposit which is equal to the value of the jewelries. However, the demand remains very high, which is 30 percent higher than the previous year.

Virtual offices attract businesses

In the economic downturn, virtual office services prove to be a good choice for the businesses which try to cut down expenses.

With the fee of 50-150 dollars, the signboards of companies would be hung at the most modern buildings.
