14-year old Nguyen Trong Hien was herding a buffalo when he discovered and caught a snake, measuring 1.8m and weighing 1.4 kilos, in Thieu Khanh commune, Thieu Hoa district, central province of Thanh Hoa last Sunday.

The snake has black dots all over the body while its head and tail are both red.
Hien said he found the snake at the foot of a mountain near Vom pagoda.
According to locals, the snake has been spotted around the area for some time but no one dared to catch it.
After being counseled by his family and some locals, Hien returned the snake to its place later on the same day.
