The People’s Court of Dak Nong Province on August 9 handed down a six-year jail sentence to former high school teacher Dinh Dang Dinh for spreading anti-State materials.

During the trial, the provincial People’s Procuracy proved that Dinh had broken the law, going against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

After a public interrogation, the judge’s board issued a charge made pursuant to point C, clause 1, Article 88 of the Penal Code.

Dinh, 49, was a chemistry teacher at Tuy Duc high school in Dak Nong Province. He was born in Hoa Hiep Commune of Kim Mon District, Hai Duong province.

He was arrested and prosecuted in November 2011 for the same charge.

According to the verdict, the police had uncovered 19 sets of 195-page-long documents with anti-State content, including calls for a multi-party political system and slander against the Government, stored on Dinh’s personal computer.

Dinh had concluded with overseas reactionary elements to post the documents on-line.

For a long time, Dinh had worked with Nguyen Trung Linh from Hanoi to set up the “Free Democratic Party in Vietnam”.

He had also regularly answered requests for interviews from forums, the media and some reactionary websites on calls for a multi-party system and changed to the nation’s contribution, the verdict said.
