There is a society of manual workers and immigrants on Hanoi’s railways. They have to cope with fatal danger from running trains every day.

Behind the showy urban life in Hanoi is another life of manual workers and immigrants, who do the jobs that urban people do not want to do.
There is a society of these people on Hanoi’s railways. These people have to risk their life to earn their living on the railway.
Below are pictures captured on Hanoi’s railway:

A rail running through Phung Hung Street.

Many immigrants hire houses along the railway.

There are taps along the rail so this is where immigrants
have bath and wash their clothes.

A woman dries her hair on the railway.

A dangerous playground of kids.

There is no fence for these ‘shortcuts’.
