US Ambassador to Vietnam David Shear has called on all Embassy staff to protect native wildlife.

At a meeting marking the International Day for Biological Diversity in Hanoi on May 22, Ambassador Shear said Vietnam is one of the most biodiversity-rich countries in the world and he is proud to join the Wildlife Safety Zone programme launched by the Education for Nature Vietnam (ENV) together with 47 other government agencies, businesses, and mass organizations.
ENV is also a partner in the US Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Asia’s Regional Response to Endangered Species Trafficking (ARREST) programme, which fights wildlife trafficking by reducing consumer demand, strengthening law enforcement and regional cooperation, and promoting anti-trafficking networks.
