A Vietnamese female student studying in Scotland has recently had the chance to touch and hold a football dated back five centuries ago, during an event at a local museum.

Hoa Nguyen, who studies marketing at Stirling University, was amongst the very few attendants of the “Handling the Past” event held at the Smith Art Gallery and Museum on May 19, that were allowed to hold the world’s oldest football produced in around 1540 in her hands.
According to the museum, the ball is possibly one of the three footballs bought by the grandfather of Mary Queen of Scots in the 1490’s.
The ball was found above the Queens Bedchamber in the late 1970's.
The event, limited to 50 people, also allowed visitors to handle three other ancient objects, including a 1,000-year-old Pre-Columbian pot from Peru, a Samurai sword, and an ancient key to Stirling presented to Bonnie Prince Charlie.
