Fishing vessel QNg-66074TS with 21 fishermen aboard, seized by China last month, safely reached Ly Son port of the island district of the same name in central Quang Ngai province early yesterday.

Pham Thi Huong, Vice Chairwoman of the Ly Son district People's Committee said the fishermen were warmly welcomed by local authorities and their families upon their arrival.

On March 3, vessels QNg-66074TS with 11 fishermen aboard and QNg-66101TS with 10 fishermen aboard were captured by the Chinese in the waters of Viet Nam's Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago.

After receiving the news, the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry delivered its protest to China, requesting it immediately and unconditionally set free the 21 Vietnamese fishermen and two fishing vessels.

On April 20, China announced that it had freed 21 Vietnamese fishermen together with the fishing vessel QNg-66074TS.

The Foreign Ministry said it would continue working with China on the release of fishing vessel QNg-66101TS.
