The southern province of Dong Nai has provided vocational training to 15,000 people in two years after it began a rural training programme, Le Thi My Phuong, director of its Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said.
"Of the trainees, 70 per cent have stable jobs now," she said, adding 10,000 others would receive training this year.
Under a VND26 trillion (US$1,3 billion) national project to train rural residents through 2020, around 1 million people will benefit every year.
