Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee Wednesday offered an emergency aid of VND3 billion (US$102,500) to Cambodia following the deadly tragedy in which nearly 380 people were killed at popular water festival in Phnom Penh Monday.

The aid package included medicines worth VND1 billion and the rest in cash.
HCMC relief group led by Pham Khanh Phong Lan, deputy director of the city’s Health Department has been in the Cambodian capital to help victims.
The relief group also delivered VND2 million in cash and other necessaries each Vietnamese families who lost their relatives in the stampede.
The Vietnam Embassy in Cambodia plans to donate $100 each to families of the 10 Vietnamese perished victims, and $50 to each of the injured.
