Hanoi’s Vice Chair Nguyen Van Khoi has asked relevant agencies to establish patrol groups which will work 24/7 on major roads.
A downpour on June 14 caused serious traffic jams in many roads in Hanoi.
The members of these groups will include traffic policemen and traffic inspectors of the Hanoi Department of Transport.
Patrol groups will focus on detecting and punishing drivers who break traffic rules, in order to curb traffic violations, particularly on national highways and major roads.
The Hanoi Department of Transport was assigned to check roads in the city to quickly repair broken roads and to upgrade the system of traffic signal plate.
Relevant agencies were told to ensure traffic order in Hanoi’s inner area during flooding.
