Titled “London Calling,” the event, to be held by the British Council in response to the recently concluded 2012 London Olympic Games, will screen many renowned English films which have been nominated for prizes at the Oscars, BAFTA Film Awards, Grammy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. They will include “Yellow submarine” (1968), “Love Actually”, which is labeled 16+ (2003), “The Queen” (2006), “Made in Dagenham” (2010) and “Orlando” (1992).
“We chose these films because they are high-quality UK films which represent the best in contemporary UK cinema and feature different views and perspectives on the city which hosted the 2012 Games. It really is a journey not to be missed and we very much hope that we can celebrate London 2012 together,” Robin Rickard – Director of the British Council Vietnam said.
“London Calling” will visit Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Da Nang and Hai Phong from August 29 to September 11.
