Young weightlifter Thach Kim Tuan will compete at both the World Weightlifting Championships and the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in November, coach Huynh Huu Chi has confirmed.
According to Chi, Tuan, who won three gold medals and broke two world youth record in the men's 56kg at the Asian Youth Weightlifting Championship in Thailand on Tuesday, would have plenty of time to recover his strength between the two tournaments.
At the upcoming 26th SEA Games, the weightlifting event will take place on November 18 in Indonesia, while the world event will begin on November 5 in France.
The 17-year-old will be aiming to qualify for the London Olympics at the world event and has his eye on gold in Indonesia.
