Nguyen Thi Mai Hung won the girls' U18 event at the Asian Youth Chess Championships, which wrapped up in Sri Lanka yesterday, July 1.

In her ninth and last game, Hung defeated Uzbekistan's Sarvinoz to finish with seven points.
China's Qiu Mengjie also earned seven points but finished second because of a poorer index.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Anh Khoi triumphed in the boys' U10 group after earning seven points from nine games.
In the boys' U-16 group, Le Tuan Minh defeated India's Narayanan S L in his last game to finish runner-up.
