The 2012 Vietnam Open International Track and Field Tournament kicked off on July 10 at the Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event drew 79 overseas athletes from nine countries and territories and nearly 400 athletes from Vietnam.
During the competition, the athletes will battle it out for 61 medals, including 31 for men’s events and 30 women’s.
This traditional competition was recognized by the Asian Athletics Association (AAA) in 2010 as it is governed by international rules and all events are recorded electronically.
The tournament runs till July.
