Vietnam came from behind to defeat Qatar 2-1 in the second leg of their 2014 World Cup qualifier at Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium on July 28.

Yousef Ahmad Ali opened the scoring for Qatar in the 16 minute from a counter-attack. Vietnam’s Nguyen Trong Hoang and Nguyen Quang Hai grabbed goals for the host in the 60th and 78th minute.
However, the ticket to the next round went to the visitors who won 4-2 on aggregate.
In other qualifying matches, Uzbekistan defeated Kyrgyzstan 3-0 to advance the third round with a 7-0 aggregate victory.
Host Kuwait came from a goal down to defeat the Philippines 2-1 to continue their World Cup journey.
China eased through the next round after beating Laos 6-1 and Syria had an impressive 4-0 victory against Tajikistan.
The third qualifying round draw will be held on July 30 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
