Vietnam’s U22 football team defeated Thai rivals 2-1 in a friendly match in Thailand on June 19 during their training course there.

Thai footballers opened the scoring in the 29th minute of the match but they could not protect their net from striker Hai Huy, who hammered two goals for Vietnam in the 70th and 76th minutes.
The match ended 2-1 in favour of Vietnam even though two of its players had received red cards from the referee.
Led by head coach Lu Dinh Tuan, the Vietnamese U22 team aims to compete in the final round of the 2013 Asian U22 tournament.
As scheduled, the team will leave Thailand on June 21 for the 2013 Asian U22 tournament’s qualifier in Myanmar where they will play against rivals from Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan (China) and the Republic of Korea.
