Twelve teams will take part in the 2012 Hanoi International Judo Tournament being held from May 19-21, announced the organising board at a press conference on May 17.
The Vietnamese team will compete with martial artists from the Republic of Korea , Laos , Indonesia and France . They will be divided into eight different weight categories for both men and women.
The tournament has been organised by Hanoi ’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to mark the 122 nd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday.
The event is an excellent opportunity for the Vietnamese team to compete against teams from overseas, which will help them to gain more experience in the international arena.
It will also help to evaluate the standard of Vietnam ’s martial artists so the best can be selected for national and international competitions.
