The free concert has been co-organised by Vietnam ’s Performing Arts Centre and the Luxembourg Embassy in Hanoi .
This is the second time the pianist has appeared in Vietnam . He will showcase his talents playing a selection of works by famous composers including Domenico Scarlatti, Igor Stravinsky, Girolamo Frescobaldi and Derrick May. In 2011, Tristano thrilled the audience at Hanoi Opera House after playing many of Johan Sebastian Bach’s famous works.
Tristano first discovered the piano at the age of five, playing his first concert, including his own compositions at 13. He is the founder of the chamber ensemble, The New Bach Players, whom he occasionally conducts.
Tristano, who has released 12 albums, is one of the last students of New York ’s Juilliard School to finish renowned artist Rosalyn Tureck’s master class on Bach legend.
The pianist has studied at music academies in Brussels, Riga, Paris, Luxembourg and Barcelona and won first prize at the international piano competition for contemporary music in Orleans, France, in 2004.
